Hi,

This seems like a very convincing approach. However my auto-suggest requirement is to group the results on the values of a particular field. I intend to use it along with the Field Collapsing feature. Would this be a good idea ?

For the user experience, it's not clear to me whether the autocomplete should be sorted by popularity or alphabetically (above a certain popularity rank). I would do an A/B test to see which one works better in specific circumstances.

There's also a great UI Pattern already set up for the AJAX parts: http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/autocomplete/

Hi,

I implemented auto suggest using terms component. It is working fine, if the word starts with the query term. Here , if the query term is java , it should also return 'learn java','head first java' etc...

How can we achieve this with term component approach?

Can anybody has idea?

Regards,
Siva

"To achieve that I tried to replace the solr.KeywordTokenizerFactory by a solr.LetterTokenizerFactory"

I'm quite new to this so correct me if I'm wrong but I think that by replacing the solr.KeywordTokenizerFactory with a solr.LetterTokenizerFactory you will lose the ability to search for a phrase with spaces in it (e.g "hello w" doesn't find "hello world").

Has anybody found a way around this?
